This is a 'living' list. I will continue to make daily updates as confirmations arrive.
YAY! GREAT JOB!
Who are the other 17 companies you have not heard from?
I'd rather not announce their names, but I'll be happy to share the list with you. I can email you them.
Glad ou guys pulled this off. it was a good Job fair, and from what i saw well attended.
Two or three suggestions intended to be helpful:
1. The link to map would be really helpful if it could be found in the notice on page 1 as well, accessible immediately, rather than only in a pop-up that is easily missed, and that was found only by an educated-guess search that concluded when it hit upon Event Calendar, and then only after one clicked on the inadequate view of the entry in today's date-block. Kind of tricky, getting to the map link. And then, the map link didn't work well...
2. Information on Parking for the meeting would have been very helpful. Colleges usually have restrictions against outsiders' parking on campus, and the lot at a university center tends to be too small, even for its day-to-day users. Suggestions for the order of battle for parking-recce relative to the target impact area would have been helpful (pls excuse the mixed metaphors). And appreciated!
3. Regarding your "map" hyperlink - Google Maps reports that it cannot find the address transfered to it via the link.
Analyzing the other clue offered, this engineer tried a possible workaround: directing Google Maps to find "301 Sparkman Dr" shows the "University Center" up almost off the North edge of the Google Map, easily missed, but careful study did find it. Am thinking it would have been most helpful to also insert a note advising the jobseeker that the UC is located in the 1st bldg. behind (to the east) of the Bevill Center, and it faces on the interior road on campus, without a direct, easy roadway access from the Bevil Center driveway.
Thanks for doing this - will there be another Workshop any time soon, for those of us who missed the first one?
Thank you for your suggestions on parking and the map. You are correct, we should have had a functioning map link coupled with the announcement. The event calendar didn't have any map associated with it. We trying to put the most effective calendar together. Google calendar has been moderately effective, but I agree the first glance person can not tell where events are located. I can at least add some instructions on how to access a day's events by clicking the event label.
After the success of this career fair, we are working on another event, but we haven't nailed down any specifics at this time. Thank you so much again for your ideas!
