Welcome to the Huntsville Space Professionals (HSP) website! We invite everyone who is passionate about space to join for free. There are no membership dues. Our goal is to help educate students about space, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and motivate them to reach their fullest academic potential.

We are dedicated to providing space education resources to schools, museums, and informal education settings to aid in the sustaining of the collective passion  for space research and development. If you would like to join our pursuit, please click on the "Join HSP" link on the left.

In order to realize our educational vision, we are establishing a fund raising campaign, to help move educational kits and speakers into the classroom. If you can help, please click on the Donate button at the right. All donations will receive a tax-deductible receipt in the mail.

Thank you!

Send your resumes to HSP

We are in regular communication with about 85 local companies, and would like to have the paperwork to back up our talented space professionals. We have already helped a dozen people find employment, and would like to help everyone.

Thank you in advance!

Chris

Lori Garver visits MSFC Senior Management

Here are a few points from the out brief of the Lori Garver visit with MSFC Senior Management—

  1. MSFC will manage the Heavy Lift Vehicle program.
  2. HLV still undefined which leaves a lot of options on the table.
  3. NASA will not be out of CR and have an approved budget until after November elections.
  4. Bolden and Garver asserted they will be more open with Senior Mgmt. next time.
  5. NASA should conduct more in-house work that is challenging, innovative, and creative.
  6. NASA will have a unified charge code for civil servants in FY2011. Furthermore, what will be written in the CR memo is unknown, however, management is trying to find out as soon as possible. Just in case the CR is written with Heavy Lift, planning has already started in order to identify scope and task orders. The other option is to continue the Program of Record.

**Please send HSP your resumes**

We are working on design concepts for a new searchable, resume database for this website, however, the implementation of such may take longer than anticipated. The resume database will be a *blind* bin, meaning it will not publish any contact information. There will be an unique identifier for each resume, which will push an email to the person to notify him or her of an employer's interest.

In the meantime, please send Chris McLemore your resume to help us find companies looking for individuals with your talent, and begin the database for our membership. Mr. McLemore will not publish your personal contact information, but he will need it to assign unique identifiers for it.

Thanks,

HSP Webmaster

Status Update--August 21st

We have been planning our next event(s) and working on networking with other space organizations around the world. We have two main events for this fall: another communication and strategy forum for our members and local employers in September and a National Commericial Space Summit for most likely the first week of November, where we invite those who are interested in learning about various space exploration goals among leaders in the industry.

Changes to the Navigation Menu

I have re-arranged some of the links on the left navigation menu to better group the options with similar relationships.

Thanks,
