Resume database coming to this site

In an effort to increase our fullest network potential for our members to find employment. I am working on a searchable database that will house everyones resume. We've got the storage space, so we might as well use it. This way future employers may *shop* through the database for the capability that is in need.

I understand, we said, we did not intend to re-create other online posting sites, however, as we are becoming more involved with trying to cover everyone, this system seems the most effective. I am planning on a single form to capture everyone's uploaded resume with several categories to make search and retrieving easier. Comments are welcome.

Website display issues with Internet Explorer 8

We have discovered some problems with the links of companies and general website display using Internet Explorer 8 and Opera webbrowsers. HSP webmaster encourages everyone to use Firefox for the best visual display, as we look for the "bug" in the code that is causing the problems. Anyone with experience with this issue, please send an email to me, cmclemore@huntsvillespaceprofessionals.com>

I will definitely post the credit for fixing the issue. : )

I will post a follow-up to this note as soon as the issue is resolved.

Thanks,

Chris

National Commercial Space Summit

We are thinking about having our next event, the "National Commercial Space Summit" at the Davidson Center (U.S. Space & Rocket Center) in about a month. This event is designed to be an informational briefing presented by a number of commercial space companies to share their goals and vision relative to space exploration with our politicians, HSP members, the community, and the media. In turn, we hope to facilitate the growth of commercial space industries in Huntsville, AL.

Due to capacity concerns we may choose a different venue.

Thank you space professionals

On behalf of the HSP staff, we would like to thank all those who attended the HSP Career Fair. The event would not have been such a success without your participation. We hope you found some good contacts with potential employers to follow-up on and ultimately secure continued employment. We also are pleased you have joined the Huntsville Space Professionals non-profit organization. We strive to achieve these goals:

  1. Employment for all of our space professionals.

  2. Encourage commercial space companies to establish sites in Huntsville

  3. Increase the accessibility to space education and foster student achievement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

Huntsville Space Professionals was founded with the principals of preserving and promoting Huntsville's talented human space capital. These principals were reinforced by the large number of career fair attendees and the positive media coverage the fair received.

Thank you,

The HSP Staff and Volunteers
